Kiran Launch A Great Success!

On October 21, we launched our new Kiran product internationally with great fanfare. We had significant media coverage in newspapers and industry blogs, including BusinessWeek, The Daily Telegraph, Venture Beat, TreeHugger, and Design Boom. As a result, we had the highest number of visitors to our wesite in a single day in the history of D.light, with the overall number of visitors in the past month doubling from the previous month. The inquiries have been pouring in from distributors around the world, which is keeping our sales teams extremely busy.

We couldn't be happier with the reception that our one-of-a-kind product is getting. The Kiran seems to be well on its way to being the "kerosene killer"! In case you missed the news coverage of the launch, visit our website to read all about it.

Kiran Wins Spark! Design Award

Within a week of the launch, the Kiran was already awarded a presitigious design award. The Spark Awards, which recognize the best in multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural, global and aspirational design from around the world, gave D.light's Kiran a Spark! level award, which is their highest design honor. Award winners were showcased in San Francisco, CA on October 29; they will again be featured in Guangzhou, China for Design Week in early December. Congratulations to our Product Design team for this great honor!

Give the Gift of Light During the Holiday Season

We at D.light are committed to providing light for the 1.6 billion people in the world who do not have access to electricity. Despite our best efforts to make our products as affordable as possible, there are many families who cannot afford more than a few pennies a day for light. That's why we created the Give Light Program.

We've partnered with US NGO Beyond Solar, which provides an innovative financing program to make our Nova products extremely affordable for very poor families in India. As a result, families who make less than $0.50 a day can afford bright, modern solar lighting!

But we need your help to make this program available to more families and villages. Please consider giving a brighter future to families in need by donating to the Give Light Program during this holiday season.

D.light India Office Moves to New Delhi

As D.light continues to grow and mature, we have regularly had to find larger and improved office space for our field offices. The most recent move was our India office, which moved from the city of Noida (a suburb of Delhi) to New Delhi proper at the end of October. This will give our staff easier access to distribution and sales partners, as well as shortening the commutes of many of our staff. Congratulations to our India staff for this exciting move!
