We are a lighting and power company with design, manufacturing and distribution capabilities. Founded in 2006, D.light Design is a young and fast-growing international organization with offices in the USA, China, India and East Africa. Our portfolio of capabilities enables us to rapidly meet identified and emerging needs in vastly different cultures and markets.
Product Design
We have a team of engineers, industrial designers and human factors specialists focused on new product development, product engineering, industrial design, pre-market testing and quality control. We specialize in designing light and power solutions for extreme affordability.
Our product design team excels in rapidly incorporating design changes into future product iterations and new product introductions. As a result, we are continually expanding our product lines to provide comprehensive lighting and power solutions. We design all our products with great care, providing designs that are relevant for different cultures and environments.
At D.light Design, we use the best design principles - usually reserved for the 10 percent wealthiest - and apply them to meet the great needs of households at the bottom of the pyramid. One of our design principles is to continually improve our designs to increase affordability without compromising on quality, so that cost-savings and benefits are passed on to our customers.
High Volume Manufacturing
Our engineering team includes mechanical and electrical engineers as well as high-volume manufacturing and quality control personnel. We oversee every aspect of the manufacturing chain from prototyping to production engineering and factory production. We are equipped to scale quickly to meet market demands.
Global Distribution, Sales & Marketing
We have experienced sales and marketing teams who understand their domestic markets. Our teams actively build partnerships with major distributors and local dealers to reach semi-urban and rural households. Our team is also trained to provide quality post-sales support and gather valuable feedback from our customers.
D.light Design also partners with non-profit organizations and distributors outside of our primary markets to provide quality lighting solutions for rural households. Our logistics partners enable us to ship our products to any port in the world to meet the needs of our partners worldwide.
Research & Development
We personally undertake research spanning ethnographic and user studies, market studies, design and technology. The findings from this research form and shape our product development. Through our R&D, D.light Design has developed a unique fast-charge battery technology. This feature meets a critical need in households with limited access to electricity. Our customers are at the center of everything we do: our goal is to give them the most appropriate, durable, and affordable products that we can.
